Zōz Vrechyo̠r Vrët (/zoːz/ /ˈvreco̠r/ [fake] [excitement]) is a subtropical Town located in the Samezi Moot of the Viceroyalty of Rosid.

The name Zōz Vrechyo̠r Vrët is derived from the Wood Elvish language, as Zōz Vrechyo̠r Vrët was founded by Khotur Phrigeegraet, who was culturaly Wood Elven.

Climate

Zōz Vrechyo̠r Vrët has a yearly average temperature of 15°C (59°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a pleasant 24°C (75°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cold 6°C (42°F). Zōz Vrechyo̠r Vrët receives an average of 139 cm/y (54 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of snow during the pleasantly short winter months. Zōz Vrechyo̠r Vrët covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 4780 m (15682 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Zōz Vrechyo̠r Vrët was founded durring the late 15th century in winter of the year 1387, by Khotur Phrigeegraet. The establishment of the new community went well, with no major obsticles durring construction.

Zōz Vrechyo̠r Vrët was built using the conventions of Wood Elven durring the late 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Zōz Vrechyo̠r Vrët is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Zōz Vrechyo̠r Vrët is buildings are grouped arround an odd layout of narrow baked earthen streets, which seems to be based on an overlapping squair patern such that there are small squares at the cornor of every bigger square. Sometimes buildings exist in the smaller squaires, other times they are open spaces, or occupied by temporary structures. The town rests behind a thick wall made from clay bricks. The wall has all of the proper fortifications and is well made. Unfortuantly the nature of clay brick leaves it quite vulnerable to siege equipment, though the thickness of the wall lends it simmilar resistnace to a thinner hardrock wall. The millitarily questionable fortifications has suffered a visible ammount of structural damage, leaving them effectivly useless. One can't help but wonder why the has not yet effected repairs.

A look around Zōz Vrechyo̠r Vrët makes you wonder how anything ever gets done. The locals have clear, obvious rivalries with one another, as seen through clenched teeth and fake smiles. What’s more, there is a serious lack of any organization and planning in Zōz Vrechyo̠r Vrët’s layout as well as the local’s behaviors. The town seems to be a den of chaos where tongues are forked and local customs do not exist.

Civic Infrastructure

Zōz Vrechyo̠r Vrët possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. These lights provide nighttime illumination to most city streets.

Zōz Vrechyo̠r Vrët has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Zōz Vrechyo̠r Vrët has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.

Zōz Vrechyo̠r Vrët has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Zōz Vrechyo̠r Vrët is home to a University which provides higher education in a variety of fields, and also serves as a research institute for those same fields.

Cultural Notes

Zōz Vrechyo̠r Vrët's mayor's house was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is admittedly strange and non-linear style rooted in defiance of symmetrical shapes. It championed the creation of buildings with a unique visual appearance. the structural norms of classic buildings and deforms or moves away from elementary architectural principles. By including non-linear designs processed into its buildings and favoring fragmentation, this style expressed a form of controlled chaos. Its buildings appear out-of-the-ordinary, draw the eye in immediately and sometimes create a feeling of strangeness. These distorted shapes and structure are not reserved to the building’s outer facade, they destabilize interior elements too, favoring minimalism and play on people’s perceptions by injecting a futuristic touch.

Due to the actions of local Kami, winter is long in Zōz Vrechyo̠r Vrët.

The Fogwarden near Zōz Vrechyo̠r Vrët are known to be quite timid.

Zōz Vrechyo̠r Vrët's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in summer and involves performance art to channel Truename Magic energies of tier 3 via throat singing.

Zōz Vrechyo̠r Vrët is in secret rebellion against their ostensible liege, having cut deals with his enemies, plotted to betray him for their own gain, or bridled under his tyranny and sought a better lord. The community’s leadership is all in on this plot, and outside viceroys or representatives are being kept carefully ignorant of the reality. The common folk may be oblivious to the truth, though they’ll doubtless have felt the same motivations and promptings that convinced their leaders to turn traitor.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century the Kami ended a famine plaguing Zōz Vrechyo̠r Vrët. One of Zōz Vrechyo̠r Vrët's local festivals commemorates this miracle.
